I'll teach you how to create repeat patterns from your own art!
I'll share my digital design knowledge and show you how to take your drawings and paintings from paper to textiles.
It's going to be serious fun!
The workshops are held in my Kalamunda studio in the beautiful Perth Hills.
The workshop compromises of a morning and an afternoon session.
Costs: $350 for the day.
There is a maximum of 4 participants per workshop, so I'll be giving you lots of one-on-one attention.
You'll be able to upload your digital designs to digital fabric printers and see your work on real products!
Session 1: Prepare to Digitally Design
9.30am to 12.30pm
In this session you will draw and paint in a range of media, to create motifs that will become the elements of your surface pattern design. You will learn how to scan images ready for importing into Photoshop. We will discuss different file formats and editing programs, and find out exactly which one is right for you.
I'll show you how designs are uploaded onto direct printing websites so that you can get your designs printed onto fabric (or just about anything really!)
Session 2: Create Repeat Patterns for Digitally Printing
1pm - 4pm
Let's get stuck into the technical side of repeat printing!
You've got all your gorgeous drawings and paintings, so let's clean them up in Photoshop and put them into repeat patterns.
Don't worry if you're a Photoshop beginner -
I'll give you all my tips to get started!
Once you've made your pattern I'll show you how to save it ready for printing. You can see all the fabric swatch samples that I have, so that you can choose the best fabric for your next project.
Please note that for this session you will need a laptop with Photoshop installed.
Let me know if you are unable to provide your own laptop and I will see what I can do. You can download a trial of Photoshop from the Adobe website, if you don't already have it.

As lunch/morning tea is provided, every effort will be made to include vegetarian options, but if you have special dietary requirements you may like to bring your own lunch etc.
All materials required will be provided, however if you have favourite brushes that you would like to use you are fine to bring them along.
Please note - No refunds will be offered for cancellations on the day but I can credit your payment against the next workshop offered or you can arrange a friend to take your place for the workshop.
